Former CM, BJP veteran B S Yediyurappa accused of sexual assault, booked under POCSO Act

Bengaluru, Mar 15: Former Karnataka chief minister and senior BJP leader B S Yediyurappa faces allegations of sexual assault under a section of the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act.

The case was registered by Sadashivanagar police in Bengaluru following a complaint from the mother of a 17-year-old girl.

According to police sources, the purported sexual assault occurred on February 2 during a meeting between 81-year-old Yediyurappa, the mother, and the daughter, who sought assistance in a cheating case.

Yediyurappa held the position of chief minister of Karnataka from 2008 to 2011, briefly in May 2018, and again from July 2019 to 2021.
