Bangalore: 20,000 Unemployed Minority Youth to Get Job-skill Training from Nov

Bangalore, Sep 30: Starting from November, 20,000 unemployed youth belonging to minority communities will be imparted training to learn job skills by the State Government.

Unemployed youth belonging to Muslim, Christian, Jain, Sikh, Parsi, and Buddhist communities would be provided training in job skills ranging from two weeks to six months. In as many as 1200 trades

Announcing the State Government’s plans for imparting treating, State Minority Welfare Department Secretary Sayed Zamir Pasha said the last date for receiving applications is October 30.

Applications would be available in minority department offices in all districts and at the offices of the Karnataka Minorities Development Corporation, Karnataka State Minorities Commission, Karnataka State Wakf Board.

A sum of Rs 23 crore would be spent on training, which would help youth to fine-tune their skills. However, there will be no bar on age to obtain training. Some of selected candidates will be given a stipend based on their skills and duration of training.

The Labour Department, Karnataka State Minorities Commission, Directorate of Minorities and NGOs would also be roped in to impart job skills in different locations in the State, Pasha said.

The Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda, who recently reviewed the progress of the department, cleared the department’s proposal for providing training.

Out 20,000 unemployed youth, nearly 10,000 youth would be selected from Bangalore alone. Trained candidates would be given job placement, Pasha added.
