Kundapur: Head-on collision of trucks, traffic disrupted

Daijiworld Media Network – Kundapur (MS)

Kundapur, Mar 23: Two trucks collided head-on near Yadthadi bridge, resulting in the disruption of traffic on Friday morning.

Drivers of trucks traveling from Brahmavar to Bidkalkatte and vice versa lost control of their vehicles and collided with each other. Fortunately, the drivers escaped with minor injuries.

As the accident occurred on the bridge, traffic on Brahmavar-Saibrakatte was disrupted for more than one hour. Students and daily wage labourers were the most affected. Later, the trucks were moved using JCBs and cranes.

The road near the bridge is too narrow, and many accidents have occurred there previously. There is also a restriction on heavy vehicles carrying more than 20 tonnes of load not to use the bridge. However, many trucks still use this road to avoid toll gates.
