Mangaluru: Outrage as devotees damage vehicles during temple fair

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Apr 4: Devotees of Bappanadu Sri Durgaparameshwari temple reportedly damaged vehicles that were parked along the route of a chariot during a recent temple fair. A video capturing the incident has circulated widely on social media, sparking outrage among netizens.

According to reports, some devotees attending the temple fair had parked their two, three, and four-wheelers along the roadside where the chariot procession was scheduled to pass. As the chariot procession commenced, certain devotees walking alongside the chariot allegedly pushed the parked vehicles to the side, resulting in the toppling of at least one car.

The actions of these devotees have drawn widespread condemnation on social media platforms.

This is just the beginning. Such behaviour will become very common in future. This is a result of giving free hand to rowdy's to do anything they please in the name of religion. Religious rowdy's have now become fearless . The hatred towards minorities which was filled in their minds from a very young age has now begun to turn towards their own community. Its election time and they are being funded lavishly from the electoral bonds scam money. This is how they will enjoy, by hurting others.

In the past years, now this types ae increased .They come there not to pray ,or devote, but as trouble makers. To avoid this previous to the function itself ,Temple should make arrangements to put during Procession barricades only to pass the processions and not any other public.Even fair should be restricted.all along the procession way.I think this was previously told that only hindus were allowed to sell and buy from Hindus during Fair. This must have given them to make outrage? Why cant others also sell there?Give chance to everyone to live and let live.seperation of caste and religion will still seperate the Nation.Thats what I think. However simply troubling innocents and putting others in trouble is always returns back.

Really bad. Faithful and religious never indulge in such mischief. It is those who prove their power over weak, do all such crimes. Unfortunately, in the name of religion, this breed of mischief mongers growing. Only way to stop them, is stop politics and business, getting in-between faith.

Today the situation is such that if the Creator himself comes down in the form of a bhikshuk, he will never be allowed to enter any so called holy place irrespective of whichever religion or class or cult... .

Separate parking place be provided to park vehicles instead of creating chaos and damaging vehicles.

Why bring religious activities onto public spaces and indulge in antisocial activity like such vandalism ? Keep religion private in the home. Religion has been weaponised like this since 22 years and is only bringing our country down.

@Shirley; better to start pondering over it and taking steps, and start doing it one step at a time.. .. I mean "worshipping the wonderful creations of the Creator" rather than worshiping the Creator (does he need it?) and totally neglecting his lovely creations before the wrath of nature befalls....??

This happens when humans become Gods and God becomes a mute spectator who falls into shock and wonders why did he ever create the human species.

No religion or God teaches to harm /do loss to others... This is the result of the hatred policy taught by selfish politicians who hypnotize bhakths as if they are religious undertakers and care takers of God

Exactly. The next time during fairs, only people belonging to that particular community should be allowed to do business. In that way others would not be harmed in any way. There would be no chance to blame other community also as only one community will have victims and perpetrators.
