Mangaluru, Apr 13: Umanath Kotian, MLA of Mulki Moodbidri Constituency, highlighted the achievements of Nalin Kumar Kateel and emphasized the significance of having Narendra Modi as prime minister during his address to the media on Saturday, April 13.
Kotian expressed, "The BJP promised to revoke Article 370 and construct the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, and despite skepticism from the people, the BJP government delivered on its promises. Whenever we see Narendra Modi, we are assured that the BJP will secure all Lok Sabha seats from Karnataka."
He commended MP Nalin Kumar Kateel for his contributions, citing the construction of the Karkala to Bikarnakatte road. Kotian lamented that despite having plans for the Sagarmala road, the Congress government hindered the progress. He defended Kateel against criticism regarding the Pumpwell flyover, attributing delays to engineering issues rather than Kateel's leadership.
Kotian emphasized the role of MPs in securing funds for development projects. He expressed confidence in the candidacy of Capt. Brijesh Chowta, highlighting Chowta's military background and widespread support during nomination submissions.
Regarding his absence from the initial election campaign due to health reasons, Kotian underscored the significance of the current election in shaping the fate of the Lok Sabha. He noted the shift in dynamics, asserting that the electorate now favors Narendra Modi over the Congress party.
Responding to questions about his earlier statement supporting the Billava Community, Kotian clarified that he made the statement at a Billava Community gathering and not during the BJP's press meet.
Regarding the likelihood of Chowta's victory and allegations of BJP's strategy to appease the Billava Community with garlanding from Narendra Modi to the Narayan Guru idol, Kotian dismissed claims of appeasement politics, stating that the BJP represents everyone, and Narayan Guru advocated for unity regardless of caste or religion.
