Bantwal, April 13: “Voters should cast their votes without inducements,” said Bantwal Taluk Panchayat executive officer Rahul Kambale.
He was speaking after setting in motion the voters' awareness programme and the rally by foot on B C Road, on Saturday, April 13.
The rally was held from Kaikamba Dwara till B C Road bus stand. Carmel College NSS students performed an awareness street play ‘Mata Maratakkilla’ directed by theatreperson Mounesh Vishwakarma at Kaikamba junction and near B C Road bridge.
Chief executive of municipal council Sridhar V, taluk panchayat manager Prakash, taluk health officer Ashok Kumar Rai, infant development project officer Mamtaz, Sweep committee district trainer Vittal Nayak, former taluk panchayat manager Shambhavi, municipal council health officer Rathna Prasad, Carmel College principal Dr Sr Latha Fernandes, professor Vijetha, Sweep committee members Chandrashekar Patur, Prashanth, Pradeep Kamath, Rajesh, Shakti Residency school, Mangaluru teachers, Taluk panchayat staff, revenue department staff, municipal council staff, Sanjeevini Okkoota staff, health department workers and others were present.
Taluk Sweep trainer Surekha compered the programme. An oath taking for casting the votes was held. Taluk panchayat assistant director Vishwanath B proposed the vote of thanks.
