Mangaluru, Apr 27: The department of French conducted the annual French fest celebration titled 'Lumière 2024- French Flair, Carnival Air' on Wednesday, April 17 at Mother Theresa Peace Park, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University).

Vice chancellor, Dr Praveen Martis SJ, in his presidential address, appreciated the efforts taken by the department to conduct such a unique fest. He shared his memorable experiences of his stay in France during his research studies in Europe and said, “France is a country of intellectuals and people with vibrant cultural heritage. They demonstrate high level of respect and hospitality to visitors. It would be a great opportunity to visit France as tourists or for higher education.”
The fest had a series of events including quiz competition, fashion walk, and open mic. It also had a variety of stalls which provided different things including delicious array of food, fun games, and homemade goodies.
Mariyam Ishmat, a student of II Year compered the programme. The student coordinator, Joanne Furtado, welcomed the gathering. Erika Menezes, assistant student coordinator proposed the vote of thanks. The informal programme was compered by Coral Jean Rego, a II year student.
The programme concluded with the distribution of the prizes for the winners.
