Udupi, May 13: Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management (SMVITM), Bantakal organized Parent Teacher Meet at the institute premises.
The major objective of the programme was to make the parents aware of the academic aspects and students’ academic performance and to ensure parental participation in monitoring the performance of the students and contributing to the overall growth of a student by guiding and supporting them.
Prof Dr Thirumaleshwar Bhat, principal, SMVITM, addressed the gathering and briefed about the programme. He emphasized that students are the greatest asset of the college. He appealed to all the students to use the facilities in the college in the best manner to excel in their career and have a holistic learning during their stay in the college. He also informed that parents should join hands with the institute to encourage the students to think, work and progress in the direction of Innovation to develop innovative ideas. In addition, the principal informed that, this semester 8.9% of students secured 9.25 CGPA.
Dr Virupaksha Devramane spoke about 'Parenting tips & Mobile addiction'. He said parenting is the greatest responsibility & it is an unending story. Also, he gave some tips about proper usage of mobile and spending quality time with wards reflects an awareness of the challenges posed by technology and the need for balance of its usage. Giving freedom by giving responsibility to the wards.
In his presidential address Ratnakumar, secretary, Shri Sode Vadiraja Math Education Trust, expressed his gratitude to the parents and students for having faith and confidence in the institution. He wished the students to bag university ranks. Also, he emphasized that education, discipline, and culture is the focus of SMVITM.
The programme was coordinated by Dr Renita S Monis and Sandhya department of basic science.
The programme started with invocation by Darshan, student of 4th semester CSE, and the programme was compered by Sachin Prabhu of department of ECE & Preethi of department of CSE.
