Mangaluru: Accident between school van, BMW in overtaking bid near Mukka

Mangaluru, Jun 12: A significant road accident occurred this morning at approximately 8:35 AM near Mukka within the Suratkal Police Station limits. The accident involved a Sri Vani School van (numbered KA 19 AE 7112) and a BMW car (numbered KA 51 MC 7575) owned by Imad Abdul Najid, a 21-year-old student of Nitte Engineering College.

According to initial reports, the accident happened as both vehicles attempted to overtake each other. Following the collision, the driver of the BMW and the passengers engaged in a heated argument with the school bus driver.

Authorities were quick to respond to the scene. "I visited the spot immediately after the incident and have taken action as per the Motor Vehicles Act against the owner of the car numbered KA 51 MC 7575," stated the police officer in charge.

The occupants of the BMW were identified as Imad Abdul Najid (21 years), Kumari Akshaya (21 years) and Ahmad Abbas (21 years).

There were no reported injuries from the incident, and no further commotion ensued following the initial argument. The authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident to determine any further necessary actions.
