Mangaluru: Vedavyas Kamath criticizes state govt over fuel price hike

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (VP)

Mangaluru, Jun 19: Vedavyas Kamath, MLA for Mangaluru South, criticized the state government for the recent increase in petrol and diesel prices. He stated, "Under Siddaramaiah's rule, there is high inflation in transportation, housing, registration, stamp duty, milk, and electricity."

Addressing the media on Wednesday, June 19 at Atal Seva Kendra, Mangaluru, Kamath said, "The Congress party has suffered a terrible defeat in the last election and is now taking revenge on the public. Since the people did not vote for them, they have decided to increase prices. In previous elections, they promised everything would be free and available for everyone, but today, the Congress party has failed, and their only guarantee now is to increase prices. The BJP condemns such price hikes."

He further added, "The price of all commodities will rise, and there is no state government tax like this in any state apart from Karnataka. The Congress party is taking money from the pockets of poor people. The guarantees given by the Congress party were all empty promises, and today they are increasing the prices of all commodities. Siddaramaiah claims that Karnataka's economy is strong, so he should explain the need for a price hike when there is no economic problem. The BJP secured 140 seats, and the situation for the Congress party is so dire that if elections were held today, the Congress party would definitely lose."

"The Congress party has a track record of telling lies to their voters. We will hold a huge protest at PVS Circle tomorrow to alert the Congress party. Siddaramaiah criticized Yediyurappa and the Bommai government, but today he is not ready to see the problems that the public is facing," he said.

When asked about price hikes during the BJP's tenure, Kamath responded, "During Yediyurappa and Bommai's tenure, most of the projects initiated by the BJP were stopped. Many PWD and temple projects have been completely halted, and the state government is not ready to provide even a single rupee."

In response to questions about statements made by U T Khader regarding the lack of financial assistance, Kamath said, "We will give Khader one year, and after that, I'll let you know how much he is really helping. Until now, we have never approached the speaker for monetary help, and if he is unable to provide it in one year, we will tell the truth."

Dharmesh, Poornima, Vijay Kumar Shetty, Divakar Pandeshwar, Ashwith Kottary, Bharath, Ramesh Hegde, Lalesh Kumar, and others were present.

Ha Ha ha, where was this man when central Govt keeps raising for LPG, petroleum and with that all the essential commodities keep increasing the prices. He never held any press conference for that? and what about his own constituency development? what are his achievements? digging roads on every day basis? daily accidents (no rules on roads / RTO), no water in summer. de-forestation. He should focus on these. He is not even in position to speak anything in the assembly. Shame on this MLA.

When Manmohan Singh’s government was in power, they had increased the tax on fuel by 7 rupees. However, when the current government came into office, they directly raised the tax by 33 rupees on fuel. Where were these people at that time? Now, they’ve all come out of the rat hole. 😄
