Mangaluru, Jun 22: The 20th annual general body meeting of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of St. Theresa’s School, Bendur, Mangalore, held on Saturday, June 22 at St Sebastian Centenary Auditorium. The distinguished guests and enthusiastic parents graced the event with their presence.

The meeting was presided over by Sr Shaila, the school correspondent, along with Sr Shuba BS, the superior of Bethany Convent, and other esteemed dignitaries, including Dr Caroline D'Souza, the resource person for the day, Sr Lourdes BS, the principal, Sujith Noronha, the PTA vice president, Gwen Rodrigues, the secretary, and Dhanya Arun, the treasurer.

The dignitaries received a ceremonial welcome with a school guard of honour, skillfully performed by the talented school band, led by stick major Neha R, which added an air of prestige to the occasion.

The event commenced with the symbolic lighting of the lamp, followed by a prayer dance to invoke divine blessings for the endeavours ahead. A mesmerizing welcome song further elevated the atmosphere, filling the gathering with joy and enthusiasm.

Principal Sr Lourdes BS expressed heartfelt gratitude to the PTA executive members for their invaluable contributions to the school, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between parents and teachers in nurturing students' holistic development.

Sr Shaila BS, the PTA chairperson, praised the achievements of the school community and highlighted the significance of providing quality education and emotional support to every child. She urged parents to actively engage in their children's educational journey, fostering an environment of love and acceptance.

A highlight of the event was the felicitation of the class X ICSE Board examination toppers for the academic year 2023-24, accompanied by their proud parents. The dignitaries acknowledged their outstanding achievements and commended the dedicated efforts of both students and teachers.

The thought provoking address by the resource person resonated deeply with the audience, providing valuable insights on the topic 'Parenting - our journey with children'.

The meeting also included the presentation of the previous AGM's minutes and activity report by the PTA secretary Gwen Rodrigues and the financial report by treasurer Dhanya Arun. The school's emerging musicians captivated the audience with their enchanting voices, delivering a performance that was both delightful and memorable. Their melodic harmonies filled the venue, showcasing their talent and passion for music.

Rashmi extended heartfelt gratitude to all participants, while Sarah Crasta skillfully compered the programme, ensuring its smooth conduct.
