Sullia, Jun 30: A labourer got trapped under mud while filling around the ring of a well, but was timely rescued by others on the site.

The incident occurred in Panja on Saturday.

Daily wage labourers from Kerala were filling mud around the rings of a well at a house near Addathodu in Panja. Suddenly, the mud around one of the rings collapsed, burying a labourer up to his shoulders.

Those present at the site immediately removed the mud and used a JCB to help free the labourer, who was then taken to Sullia hospital. He is now out of danger.

This is wrong: Space between ring & hard soil 2-3 feet must be filled with 40 mm Jelly and the top part with laterite unsize waste stone. Wait for one year to finish top part as it will sink further in first rains. Dont be a miser in this aspect many cases reported this season
