Mangaluru: CCB police arrest one for trafficking MDMA drugs

Mangaluru, Jul 6: In a significant breakthrough, the CCB police successfully arrested an individual for trafficking the prohibited drug MDMA and seized 36 grams of the substance.

Acting on precise information, the CCB police identified a man involved in the sale and transportation of MDMA on a bike at Ullalbail. The accused, identified as Mohammad Safwan (32), a resident of Bannur, Puttur, was apprehended with 36 grams of MDMA worth Rs 90,000. Additionally, the police confiscated a mobile phone, a digital weighing scale, and the bike used for transportation. The total value of the seized items is estimated to be around Rs. 2,05,500. A case has been registered at Ullal police station regarding this incident.

The accused had allegedly purchased MDMA from Bengaluru with the intent of making illicit profits by selling it to the public and students in the city. The investigation suggests that there may be more individuals involved in this drug trafficking network, and efforts are underway to apprehend them.

This successful operation was led by CCB ACP Geetha Kulkarni, with the participation of police inspectors Shyam Sundar H M, PSI Narendra, and other CCB personnel.
