Bantwal: State Govt staff demand implementation of 7th Pay Panel report recommendations

Bantwal, Jul 12: The office-bearers and members of the State Government Employees Association assembled at the taluk administration building on Friday, July 12 in the evening to submit a request to Tahsildar D Archana Bhat, urging the fulfillment of the recommendations of the seventh pay commission report.

Earlier, the association had petitioned Bantwala MLA Rajesh Naik on Thursday, requesting him to advocate for government employees during the upcoming assembly session. Tahsildar D Archana Bhat accepted their petition.

Addressing the gathering on behalf of the state government employees of the taluk, union president Umanatha Rai Mera highlighted the significant role of government employees despite the 2.6 lakh vacancies statewide.

He emphasised their crucial contribution to the state's development index and GST revenue collection. Therefore, he demanded the proper implementation of the State Seventh Pay Commission's report through a government order, the cancellation of the National Pension System (NPS) in favour of reinstating the old pension scheme, and the implementation of the Karnataka State Health Sanjeevini scheme by the government.

Present at the event were president Umanatha Rai Mera, secretary Santosh Kumar Thumbe, K S P S T A district president Shivprasad Shetty, Association treasurer Basaiya Alimatty, vice-presidents Manjunath K H and Shamanth Kumar, High School Teachers Association president Joel Lobo, Pensioners Association president Lokanath Shetty, secretary Niloji Rao, Physical Education Teachers Association president Indushekhar, Akshara Dasoha director Rajendra Rai, Headmasters Association president Prema, Village Administration Officers Association president Anil K Pujari, along with prominent figures Ramesh Naik Rai, Francis Desa, Krishnamurthy, Ambaprasad, Jagadisha Rai, Shashikanta, Lancey, Ajith, Balakrishna Rai, Muralikrishna Rao, and Naveen P S.
