Udupi: Tulu Koota Bahrain to organize 'Aatid Onji Dina'

Udupi, Jul 13: The Indian Club Bahrain and Tulu Koota Bahrain will organize ‘Aatid Onji Dina’ at India Club Auditorium, Bahrain on August 9.

Raj Kumar, organizer of Tulu Koota, addressing a press conference held on July 13, said, “This programme is organized to make people residing there aware of the speciality of ‘Aati Month’. On the day, various traditional games of Tulunadu will be performed.”

Raj Kumar, said, “The Konkani, Christian and Beary communities of Tulunad will also join hands in this event. Although Tulu events have been held in Bahrain, the concept of 'Aatid Onji Dina' is new to Bahraini Tulu people and such a programme will be held for the first time in Bahrain. As many as a thousand Tulu people will participate in this event.”

Chandrashekar Suvarna, Mulki, Rajyotsava award winner and Naveen Shetty Eddemar, Tulu Speaker will be guests of honour. Their presence and direction will enrich ‘Aatid Onji Dina’ to be held in Bahrain, celebrating their contributions to Tulu language in both the districts.

The ingredients, vegetables and leaves required for preparing the Tulu Nadu traditional dishes for the day will be taken from Udupi and Mangaluru by the members. Vijaya Kumar Nayak informed that the efforts are being made to introduce the taste of the food prepared during the Aati month in Tulu Nadu to the Tulu people living there.

Chandrashekhar Suvarna, Mulki, Naveen Shetty Eddemar, Gagan Suvarna, Mulki and others were present in the press meet.
