Bantwal, Jul 16: Heavy rain lashed the region on Tuesday, July 16 causing damage in several places.
In Sujeeru of Pudu village, a large boulder collapsed near the house of Sushila, damaging the property. Fortunately, there were no casualties. In Maji of Veerakamba village, the house of Yogini sustained partial damage. In Madhwa of Kavalapaduru village, a tree fell on the house of Pramila and Surendrashetty, causing partial damage.
In Kariyangala village, the roof of Polali Janardhan Devadiga's house was blown away by strong winds, damaging household items, according to information from the revenue department.
Netravati river swells
The Netravati river in Bantwal saw water levels rise to 6.6 meters in the morning, before receding to 6.4 meters by the evening. Residents of flood-prone areas along the river have been issued advance warnings and advised to take precautions.
