Sullia: Bus-scooty collision near Sonangeri claims life of GP member

Sullia, July 22:  In a tragic accident involving a KSRTC bus and a scooty near Sonangeri, Ramachandra Prabhu (68), a member of Nellore Kemraju gram panchayat, met with a fatal accident on Monday, July 22.

Prabhu was on his scooty when a KSRTC bus coming from the opposite direction collided against his vehicle. Sustaining severe injuries, he tragically passed away at the scene.

Ramachandra Prabhu, a resident of Narankaje in Nellore Kemraju village, was on his way to Sullia to distribute his son's wedding invitation along with his wife Umavathi when the accident occurred.

Due to sudden rain near Dugaladka, he asked his wife to take a bus to Sullia while he continued on his scooter. However, Prabhu met with the accident while heading towards Sullia. The accident occurred at the Suttukote turning and by the time he could reach Sullia a Kukke Subrahmanya-bound KSRTC bus hit his vehicle.

Prabhu sustained severe head injuries and breathed his last on the spot following the accident.

The deceased was a respected figure in the village, serving as a collector for Nelluru Kemraje Primary Agricultural Cooperative Society apart from being a member of the GP. He was actively involved in social activities and was highly regarded in the community. He is survived by his wife and son.

The mortal remains of Ramachandra Prabhu was brought to the Sullia Government Hospital by the police, who have registered a case in this regard.
