Mangaluru, Jul 23: Mangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (MESCOM) has introduced two new telephone lines for the public to report serious issues and emergencies.

The public can reach MESCOM at 8277883388 and 0824-2950953 in case of emergency situations.

These numbers should only be used for serious and emergency situations. For all other general services, the free helpline 1912 and local office landline numbers should be used, according to the managing director of MESCOM.

MESCOM officials stated, “Inspecting rusted and weak electricity wires and dilapidated poles is being prioritized. This year, MESCOM has suffered significant losses to its assets due to high-velocity winds. A considerable amount is being spent on replacing the electricity poles and wires. MESCOM is using its financial resources to address the issues as quickly as possible. If the public is aware of any wires, poles, or transformers that are weak or rusted and not known to MESCOM, they should bring it to the attention of local MESCOM personnel. If there is no response, the issue should be escalated to higher officials.”
