Mangaluru, Jul 27: MLC Ivan D'Souza has criticised the Union government over NEET irregularities, calling it a "business" of theirs.

Addressing media persons on Saturday, July 27, D'Souza said, “During the recently concluded session, I had the opportunity to ask 45 questions, including one about NEET irregularities. I thank Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for adopting the resolution to scrap the NEET examination, which I advocated for.”

He highlighted that “lacs of students across the nation faced injustice due to NEET irregularities, as the question paper was leaked.”

D'Souza demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, emphasising that addressing NEET issues would be challenging without the support of the central government. “State government has taken a good decision for students’ future by passing the resolution to scrap the NEET exam,” he added.

On another note, D'Souza challenged MP Kota Srinivas Poojary to discuss his alleged involvement in the Rs 1000 crore MUDA scam, stating, “We will not find a single piece of evidence implicating Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the MUDA scam.”

Regarding the establishment of government medical colleges, D'Souza noted, “The government will decide to have one government medical college in each district based on necessity, prioritising accordingly.”

Ivan woke up few weeks late isn't it? Which SOP is he following? NEET irregularities after SC cleared NTA? Can Ivan explain why, KEA cannot publicly declare NEET-Karnataka ranks? KEA and the likes became so controversial that Congress at center had to device NEET when they were in power. Now in opposition, likes of Ivan who are bereft of history of their party is demanding ctrl-alt-del. Instead ask Siddu Government to declare state No.1 to end rank for medical seats; that they stopped even before NEET came into existence. Even Siddu will run away if this is demanded. Is Ivan ka kya hoga kaliya?

Medical examination entrance scams have been there with both UPA and NDA , rather than complaining pls offer solutions to improve the system. NEET should be conducted on the lines of JEE with two exams . I am sure premier institutes like AIIMS will do a good job of conducting these exams .

One should understand that the present administration was clearly chosen by the citizens to correct the earlier administration's corrupt actions, and not to continue with the same and blame the past!

Agree; after such a big corruption expose, any conscientious official heading this exam department would have put in his papers taking accountability, but still hanging around 😔 is a deplorable act!
