Moodbidri, Aug 3: The annual general meeting (AGM) of the parent-teacher Association (PTA) at Carmel School Moodbidri was held on July 31. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr Deepa Kotari, director of Alva's Centre for Wellness Training and associate professor at Alva's College Moodbidri, as the chief guest. Other dignitaries included Sr Sunitha Monterio AC the school joint secretary, Sr Maria Gracilda AC the principal, Sr Elena AC the administrator, Jossy Menezes PTA vice president, Sr Preena AC the vice principal, Sr Rosy and Sr Ranitha the co-ordinators.
The dignitaries were escorted to the hall by the school band and students, dressed in traditional attire warmly welcomed them at the entrance. The program commenced with a prayer song, followed by the symbolic lighting of the lamp. A welcome dance performed by the students set a delightful tone for the event.
Sr Maria Gracilda AC extended a warm welcome to the gathering. In a unique gesture the guests were welcomed with potted saplings emphasizing the school's commitment to environmental sustainability.
A captivating dance on the theme of networking between school and parents highlighted the importance of collaboration in the educational journey.
The highlight of the event was the session on 'Mindful Parenting' by the chief guest, Dr Deepa Kotari. She shared her valuable insights and experiences on this enriching topic, providing parents with practical strategies to support their children's holistic development. Queries were also answered, emphasizing the importance of mindful parenting.
After a refreshment break, Sr Maria Gracilda AC delivered an insightful presentation on the AC. Stamp of education through a PowerPoint presentation. This was followed by an informative showcase of the components of the National Education Policy (NEP) and National Curriculum Framework (NCF). The clear explanation of the principles of NEP and NCF helped parents understand how these frameworks are reshaping education. During the PTA meeting, the successful implementation of NEP and NCF done in the school was also highlighted through video presentations and PPTs, emphasizing the commitment to child-centered, activity-based, and experiential learning.
Expectations from the school were also detailed in a PPT presentation, ensuring parents were well-informed about the school's operational guidelines. Sr Maria Gracilda AC provided some general instructions about school operations and addressed parents' queries, offering clear and positive clarifications.
The meeting concluded with the national anthem. Jancy Linet proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all attendees and contributors. The event was smoothly compered by Shanthi.
The AGM was a resounding success, fostering a stronger bond between the school and parents and paving the way for collaborative efforts in the educational journey of the students at Carmel School Moodbidri.
