Mangaluru, Aug 6: On the sixth day of the novena, celebrating the feast of the transfiguration of God, the faithful gathered to reflect on the theme: "When we earnestly pray and meditate, our life will be transformed."
The evening began with a profound adoration led by Fr Ashwin Cardoza at 5:30 pm. The solemn mass that followed was celebrated by Fr Ashwin Cardoza, director, ICYM, Mangalore Diocese as the main celebrant, with Fr William D'Souza, assistant parish priest, and Fr Melwin Pinto, MSIJ as concelebrants.
During his homily, Fr Ashwin highlighted the significance of the transfiguration, drawing the devotee’s attention to three key points:
1. The High Mountain: Fr Ashwin spoke about the importance of climbing the mountain, symbolizing the need for patience and persistent prayer in the spiritual journey. He reminded everyone that with patience, one can achieve anything.
2. A Place of Meditation: He encouraged the faithful to find a space where they can meditate and feel the presence of God. This is where one can have an intimate dialogue with God, deepening their connection with the divine.
3. Coming Down from the Mountain: Fr Ashwin reflected on the experience of being with Jesus and feeling His love. He explained that after such an experience, the believers are filled with strength and the presence of God in their lives. This transformation empowers them to live their lives differently, carrying the experience of God's love into their daily routines.
The choir of the service was from Holy Redeemer Church, Derebail. Special prayers were offered for the youth and children invoking blessings for their growth and well-being.
