Udupi, Aug 7: Daniel Monteiro a well-known philatelist, a native of Kumrugodu village, Brahmavar, won silver medal in Asian international stamp exhibition 'JAKARTA- 2024', held on July 3 to 7, at Jakartha, (Indonesia) for his collection on Peacock Stamps.
Daniel Monteiro also bagged several medals at various national and international philatelic exhibitions competition held earlier at Hongkong, China, Korea, South Africa, Thailand, Indonesia, Austria, Belgium, Macao, Singapore, Bangladesh, Dubai, and India.
A recipient of Guinness World Record, he has two Limca Record and three India Book of Records and Unique world record to his credit. Also, he is a recipient of district Rajyosthava award and several state and national level honours.
Daniel is an active member of Dakshina Kannada Philatelists and Numismatics Association, Mangaluru, Manipal University Philatelic and Numismatics Club, Manipal and Karnataka Philatelic Society, Bengaluru.
He also plays an important role in creating awareness about environment by organizing exhibitions in various institutions and organisations.
