Udupi, Aug 8: Manipal police have arrested Prakash Nayak, a resident of Brahmavar, in connection with a bike theft case that was registered six months ago. The stolen bike has been confiscated.

The accused was produced in court and has been sent to judicial custody. The arrest occurred during police checks following a chain-snatching incident involving an elderly woman the previous day. The police noticed Nayak riding suspiciously near Mannapalla MJC College, and upon checking, discovered the bike was stolen.

Inspector Devaraj, SI Raghavendra, and personnel Imran and Prasanna of the Manipal police station were involved in the operation.
