Mangaluru: RPF head constable saves passenger’s life at city railway junction

Mangaluru, Aug 18: In a heroic act, RPF Head Constable M Raghavan averted a potential tragedy by saving a passenger who fell between a moving train and the platform at Mangaluru Junction.

The incident occurred around 21:35 hours when Train No. 16346 Netravathi Express was departing from platform No.1. A passenger, identified as Sasang, who was attempting to board the moving train, lost his balance and fell into the gap between the train and the platform.

M Raghavan, who was on duty at the time, immediately noticed the passenger's fall. Without hesitation, he rushed to the scene, grabbed Sasang's hand, and pulled him to safety, preventing what could have been a fatal accident.

The passenger, Sasang, who was traveling from Mangaluru Junction to Lokmanya Tilak Terminal with PNR No. 4302526291 and was seated in coach S2 at berth 3, expressed his immense gratitude for the swift and brave action of the head constable.

This life-saving act by M Raghavan, a member of the Railway Protection Force stationed at Mangaluru Junction, serves as a reminder of the critical role played by railway personnel in ensuring the safety of passengers.
