Mangaluru, Aug 19: Aurora’24, cultural day celebration was organized by Srinivas Institute of Allied Health Sciences (SU-IAHS), was a grand success, bringing together students, faculty, and esteemed guests for two days of vibrant activities on August 16 - 17. The event was conducted with the blessings of A Shama Rao, founder and with the continuous support of Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao, chancellor of Srinivas University, and Dr A Srinivas Rao, pro-chancellor.
The celebrations began with a series of inter-college competitions exclusively for SU-IAHS students, including Solo Song, Rangoli, Mehandi, Classical Dance, Photography, Debate, Cooking Nutritional Meal Without Heat, Face Painting, Chess, and Carrom. The enthusiasm and creativity displayed by the participants truly set the stage for the event.
On August 17, the cultural day celebrations commenced with a spirited dance competition from 9:30-11 am. This was followed by the inauguration ceremony, which included a prayer, a welcome dance, and the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries, including Dr Anil Kumar, registrar of Srinivas University, who presided over the function. He was joined by Dr Jayashree Bolar, assistant registrar, and Dr Ramakrishna Hegade, dean of SUITE. The ceremony also featured the prize distribution, where winners of the previous day’s competitions and Denwin D’Souza, 3rd BSc MLT student received “Best outgoing student of the year – 2024” award for his outstanding academic achievement.
Following the formal proceedings, the cultural programs showcased the immense talent of SU-IAHS students through various performances that reflected the rich cultural diversity of the community. The event was meticulously organized under the guidance of Prof Pavana Krishnamurthy, dean of SU-IAHS, with Ashlesh Alva and Sarath taking charge as the convener and co-convener, respectively. The day concluded at 4 pm, leaving behind a strong sense of pride and accomplishment among all who participated in and attended Aurora-2024.
