Mangaluru, Aug 19: The 78th Independence Day was celebrated on August 15 at MGC Composite PU College Bondel with great enthusiasm. The event was attended by PTA members, parents, staff & students.

The celebration began at 8:15 am with the hoisting of the national flag by the chief guest Shamil Ahmed, director of Delta Infra Logistics Worldwide Ltd. The tricolor fluttered proudly in the sky. The school choir led the gathering in the singing of the national anthem, filling everyone with a deep sense of pride and unity.

Following the flag-hoisting ceremony, the students presented a vibrant cultural programme. The students performed the prayer service, patriotic songs, dances, and speeches, all highlighting the significance of Independence Day. One of the highlights of the programme was a skit performed by the students of grade 9, depicting the struggles and sacrifices of the army officials.

The chief guest emphasised the importance of remembering the sacrifices made by the nation’s heroes.

The day concluded with a vote of thanks. Refreshments were served. Overall, the Independence Day celebration at MGC Composite PU College, Bondel was a memorable event, fostering a spirit of patriotism among the students and reminding everyone of the value of freedom.
