Mangaluru, Aug 28: Melwyn D'Souza, 53, who once aspired for a happy family life, is now enduring each day with immense difficulty, struggling to survive. He faces challenges performing his daily chores and often relies on the help of others.
Melwyn lives in a rented house near Valencia, Mangaluru, with his wife Daisy, their daughter, who is a 10th standard student, and their son, who is in the 7th standard. For the past five years, Melwyn has been battling chronic calcific pancreatitis with biliary strictures (SBS) and diabetes. He has undergone numerous surgeries and long-term treatments involving stents and other medical procedures. He now needs to inject insulin five times a day and frequently suffers from jaundice.
Doctors have advised Melwyn to undergo specialized treatment, which is expected to cost around Rs 10 lakh over the next year. However, gathering the funds needed for his treatment is a significant challenge. Melwyn's financial situation is precarious, with his monthly medical expenses already placing a considerable burden on his family.
His family is appealing for financial assistance from kind-hearted donors who can contribute towards his treatment, helping him to lead a better and more normal life. In addition to financial support, they are also seeking prayers for the strength to endure this ordeal.
Those who wish to donate and support Melwyn can send their contributions to the following bank account:
