Mangaluru, Aug 27: The Konkani Sangh of St Agnes College (Autonomous), celebrated Konkani Manyata Diwas with a special event at the college on August 21.
The chief guests for the occasion were Sapna Crasta, a member of the Konkani Sahitya Academy and a multilingual actress, and Rayan Magneto, a writer, director, and producer of the Konkani film 'Lucky Draw 777'. Sapna Crasta spoke on the significance of the Konkani language and encouraged students to explore further academic opportunities in this field. Rayan Magneto emphasized the importance of language skills and urged attendees to enhance their proficiency.
The event was chaired by Sr Dr M Venissa AC, principal of St Agnes College, who highlighted the crucial role of language in communication and encouraged student participation in Konkani-related activities.
The programme began with a welcome address by Melson D’Souza, assistant professor and coordinator of the Konkani Sangh. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dion Sam D’souza, secretary of the Konkani Sangh, followed by a cultural presentation that celebrated Konkani traditions.
