Mangaluru: Srinivas University hosts blood donation camp 2024

Mangaluru, Aug 30: The Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University, successfully organised a blood donation camp on August 29, at the Aviation campus, located behind Sri Krishna Bhavana, GHS Road, Hampankatta, Mangaluru. The event was held in collaboration with Srinivas Hospital, Mukka.

The camp was inaugurated and supervised by Dr Pavitra Kumari, dean of the Institute of Aviation Studies, in the presence of Dr Madhukar Devadiga, pathologist and assistant professor at Srinivas Institute of Medical Science and Research Center, Dr Geethu from the PG Pathology department, and Roopa, blood bank incharge at Srinivas Hospital, Mukka.

The blood donation drive commenced at 10 am and continued until 2 pm. A total of 70 donors participated, demonstrating a strong commitment to community service. The process began with the registration of donors, followed by a basic health screening that included checks for haemoglobin levels, blood pressure, and overall fitness to donate blood. After successfully passing the health screening, donors proceeded to give blood under the careful supervision of the medical team.

The camp concluded successfully, collecting a total of 43 units of blood. The collected blood will be used to support various medical needs at Srinivas Hospital, Mukka, contributing to saving lives and improving healthcare in the region.
