Mangaluru, Sep 1: Mescom will conduct a special drive from September 2 to 30 to recover outstanding dues from consumers.
Mescom has stated that all government, semi-government bodies, gram panchayats, local bodies, and other organizations must pay their electricity bills within the stipulated time. Failure to do so will result in disconnection of their electricity supply.

To facilitate this drive, teams have been formed at divisional and sub-divisional levels. During a review of revenue collection, it was found that union government offices, state government offices, gram panchayats, and local bodies have not been paying their dues on time, creating a significant burden on Mescom's financial planning. Mescom emphasized that the timely recovery of dues is essential to manage electricity procurement costs, administrative expenses, maintenance of the electricity network, and replacement of parts as needed.
