Media Release

Leeds, Oct 2: Tharavadu, Leeds’ award-winning South Indian restaurant, was honoured to host a special guest on Tuesday: Simon Grayson, former Leeds United player and manager, and former manager of Bengaluru FC in India’s Indian Super League. Accompanying him was Chris Edwards, bassist from the iconic rock band, Kasabian.

During his time managing Bengaluru FC, Simon had the opportunity to visit Kerala, where he developed a deep appreciation for the region’s cuisine. His passion for Kerala’s unique flavours led him to Tharavadu, where he was delighted to rediscover the authentic tastes of South India right in the heart of Leeds. Among his favourite dishes was Meen Pollichathu, a traditional spiced fish delicacy, which he paired with Kerala Paratha.

Simon expressed his excitement about finding a restaurant that reminded him of his time in India. He enjoyed a warm welcome from the staff and took time to interact with fellow diners, posing for pictures and sharing stories of his love for Kerala cuisine.

“We were thrilled to have Simon and Chris at Tharavadu today,” said Prakash who is co-founder Tharavadu. “It is always special when guests with such a deep connection to Kerala cuisine visit us, and we’re glad Simon enjoyed his experience.”

Tharavadu continues to be a beacon for authentic South Indian dining in Leeds, offering a rich variety of traditional dishes that transport diners to the vibrant flavors of Kerala.
