Mangaluru, Oct 21: A bomb threat targeting Air India flights across various parts of India, including a flight from Mangaluru International Airport to Dubai, was posted on Twitter.

The threat, shared at around 12:35 pm on Sunday from an account named ‘Schizophrenia 111’, claimed that bombs were planted on six Air India flights. Air India personnel in Mangaluru noticed the message around 1:30 pm and immediately filed a complaint with the Bajpe police station.

The flight, which departed from Mangaluru at 9:30 am and landed safely in Dubai at 1:30 pm, was among those targeted by the threat. Airport officials confirmed that no dangerous items were found on the flight. Police have launched an investigation into the matter.

Mangaluru International Airport has received multiple bomb threats in the past. On June 18, 2024, an email threat claimed that bombs had been placed at the airport, set to explode in seconds. Similarly, on April 29, 2024, a threat email was sent to the airport authority's office and another threat was received on December 26, 2023.
