BJP's Kishore Kumar Puttur secures easy victory in legislative council by-election

Mangaluru, Oct 24: In a much-anticipated result, the BJP's Kishore Kumar Puttur has secured a comfortable win in the legislative council by-election for the Dakshina Kannada local authorities’ constituency.

The election, held on October 21, was necessitated following the election of Kota Srinivas Poojary to the Lok Sabha. The results were announced on Thursday, October 24, confirming the BJP's expected victory.

In the vote count, BJP received 3,654 votes, while Congress garnered 1,957 votes. SDPI secured 195 votes.

Belonging to the Savitha Samaj, Kishor Kumar has previously served as the district president of the BJP Yuva Morcha and as the general secretary of the Dakshina Kannada district BJP.
