Kaup: Fugitive arrested at Kannur airport after 18 warrants issued

Kaup, Oct 25: Kaup police arrested Ashmath Ali (35), who had been absconding overseas after obtaining bail in a case, at Kannur International Airport in Kerala.

In 2019, a case was registered against Ashmath Ali at Kaup police station for making a video of unnatural acts.

Ali was released on bail on September 6, 2019, after obtaining bail from the second ACJ and JMFC court of Udupi.

An arrest warrant was issued against Ashmath 18 times. Police, acting on a tip-off, apprehended him at Kannur International Airport on October 21.
