Speaking about the conference, Abhilasha S, principal of SMS English Medium School, stated, “The theme of the conference is 'Elevate Humanity: Rethinking Education to Empower Humanity for the Third Millennium.' The advent of the third millennium has brought about significant changes driven by the Fourth Industrial Revolution, media advancements, AI, and other emerging technologies.

These developments are reshaping society and have influenced education, often sidelining the human element of learning.

Moreover, the alarming merger of education and the economy in this post-human era threatens to diminish education’s humanistic essence.

This conference aims to reimagine the purpose and pedagogy of education, empowering educators to build a future where individuals recognize universal human attributes and evolving personal identities.

The conference seeks to bring together educators, policymakers, and stakeholders to redefine educational goals, prioritize human dignity and ethical progress, foster empathy, creativity, and critical thinking, and nurture resilient, adaptable, and compassionate individuals,” she explained.

The conference will be inaugurated by Fr MC Mathai, president of OSC Educational Society, Brahmavar. Giridhar, a member of the Azim Premji Foundation, will deliver the keynote address.

A panel discussion titled "Rethinking Education: Integrating Multiple Perspectives for a Compassionate Future" will feature Dr Rajaram Tholpadi, former professor of political science at Mangalore University; Dr Neeta Inamdar, research professor at Symbiosis International University, Pune; Dr AS Archana Bhat, associate professor and head of UG & PG at Kateel Ashok Pai Memorial College, Shivamogga; and Dr Ashok Kamath, senior lecturer at DIET Udupi.

The session will be moderated by Shubhashankar Paul, PhD scholar at MAHE, Manipal.

Selected schools will present their best practices in the session titled "Philosophy to Practice." Computer scientist KP Rao will address the gathering during the valedictory session, and educationists Merida D Almeida and Prof Mathew C Ninan will share their insights.

AICS, built on principles of collaboration and knowledge-sharing, has reached notable milestones.

Its outreach and educational programs have enriched the teaching-learning experience for staff and students across member schools. As AICS celebrates two decades of excellence, it proudly represents a community of 84 schools, 4,000 educators, and 75,000 students.

SMS, commemorating 30 years of excellence, is committed to hosting this landmark conference.
