Mangalore: M N Rajendra Kumar Forays into Film Production with ‘Galaate’

Mangalore, Dec 9: President of South Canara District Central Cooperative Bank since the last 16 years, M N Rajendra Kumar, who is known for multi-tasking and organizational capabilities, has forayed into film production now. Shooting for his ambitious mainstream Kannada venture, ‘Galaate’ , began on Wednesday December 7.

Rajendra Kumar, who has been successful in his roles as a farmer, entrepreneur, cooperative leader, administrator, and producer of television serials, wants to produce one to two films every year, if he gets good stories. ‘Galaate’, based on a story by B A Madhu, is being directed by M D Sridhar.

Over 500 episodes of Kumar’s television serial, ‘Jogula’, which centres on the story of a woman from middle income group turning into surrogate mother because of problems plaguing her, have been telecast on Zee Kannada channel.  ‘Chocolate  Hero’ Prajwal Devaraj, will be in the lead role.
