Dubai, Nov 21: Kanara Entrepreneurs Ltd (KEL) Dubai hosted event on Saturday November 16 at the Icon Delux Hotel, Al Barsha, Dubai to commemorate the success of its Startup Launchpad, a 10 week programme to its members on different areas of entrepreneurship. The event was part of their ongoing efforts to support and nurture their members in their professional and entrepreneurial endeavors.
The highlight of the evening was the closing ceremony, which celebrated and honored the participants for successfully completing the KE StartUp Launchpad Program – Cohort 1. The programme was designed to cover eight key modules, including ideation, market research, product development, business operations, marketing and sales strategies, funding, and scaling. Each module was crafted by industry experts and featured practical exercises. These exercises culminated in a pitch deck, equipping participants with actionable insights and hands-on experience.
The event began with an introduction to KEL's objectives and guiding principles, presented to a packed audience. The KEL president, Dorothy Fernandes, warmly welcomed everyone, congratulated the participants on successfully completing the programme, and encouraged other members to take advantage of the opportunities offered within the community. Additionally, eight new members were formally inducted into KEL Dubai by the president.
Arun Joshi, a seasoned marketing research and strategy expert from SixthFactor Consulting, presented his keynote on ‘Numbers, Neuromarketing, and the New Age of Insights’. He shared his expertise in using intelligent judgment to understand marketing dynamics, including how sample size surveys contribute to market segmentation. With extensive experience in innovative research methodologies, he also discussed insights into consumer behavior and decision-making.
Three business pitches were presented by Loyan D'Souza, Sonia Machado, and Royson Pinto, showcasing the skills and insights they gained during the Launchpad Program. Ivan Fernandes honored Arun Joshi with a memento on behalf of KEL, recognizing his valuable contribution to the programme. Special recognition was also given to Desma Rovina D’Souza for meticulously planning, executing, and conducting the Launchpad programme over the past 10 weeks.
Following this, all participants were awarded certificates for successfully completing the programme. Rajesh Sequeira, an active member, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing heartfelt gratitude to the participants for their enthusiastic involvement.
The entire programme was skillfully hosted by Charmaine Albuquerque and Desma Rovina D'Souza, both valued members of KEL. Wilfred Mathias introduced engaging games and fun activities for the members from his new venture.
KEL is a non-profit, mutual benefit corporation founded by individuals from the Kanara region. For over 20 years, it has aimed to encourage, support, guide, and nurture entrepreneurship within the community in Dubai.
