Mangaluru: Locals blame airport authorities for landslide near Adyapadi, express outrage

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Dec 3: Cyclone Fengal's fury has unleashed torrential rains across Dakshina Kannada, triggering a devastating landslide near Adyapadi, Bajpe. The downpour has severed the crucial Bajpe-Adyapadi link, leaving the area isolated.

The landslide, caused by water runoff from Mangaluru Airport, has flooded the courtyards of homes in low-lying areas with mud. Strong winds have also brought down electric poles, worsening the crisis.

Frustrated locals are pointing fingers at the Mangaluru Airport for its negligence, accusing it of causing the disaster. They have voiced their outrage against both the airport authorities and the Taluk Tahsildar, who visited the site for an inspection but failed to address their concerns.
