Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Dec 12: A private bus driver displayed remarkable presence of mind and averted a major mishap by controlling a bus with failed brakes, saving the lives of several passengers. The incident occurred on Thursday, December 12 morning at Ballalbagh in city.

A private bus named Vishal Travels was en route from Udupi to Mangaluru when the brakes failed as it approached Ballalbagh at around 8 am. Acting swiftly, the driver, Siddiq Ermal, showcased exceptional alertness.

He immediately steered the bus onto the footpath, ensuring no harm came to the passengers or others on the road. The bus was carrying a significant number of passengers due to the morning rush, but thanks to Siddiq's quick thinking, everyone onboard escaped unhurt.

Passengers praised Siddiq for his presence of mind, and several posts commending his actions have been shared on social media platforms.

Brake failure in modern vehicle ?. is not like olden vehicles which had fluid brake cylinders. Now all heavy vehicles comes with pneumatic cylinders with spring . need to investigate properly. For me it looks like driver lost control of the vehicle and drove in to footpath.

"Drivers like Siddiq are necessary in today's times because everywhere you see rash driving and reckless driving, many innocents become victims of accidents. However, with a bit of presence of mind, lives can be saved. Siddiq is a perfect example of this."

Very good work by Siddiq. Very good precence of mind . But my request with bus owners that ,I have seen they clean the bus everyday early morning ,at the same time they must check the break as well as other parts daily for passengers safety.
