Karkala: State-level Kabaddi player dies of cardiac arrest during tournament

Karkala, Dec 15: Preetham Shetty (26), a resident of Mutlupady Nadumane near Ajekaru and a national-level Kabaddi player, tragically passed away due to cardiac arrest while playing on December 13.

Preetham was participating in a Kabaddi tournament at Mandya when he complained of chest pain during the game. Despite being rushed to the hospital, doctors declared him dead on arrival.

A well-known Kabaddi player, Preetham had participated in numerous competitions during his school years at Muniyalu government high school and PU college. He later became a key player for the Kabaddi team at SDM College, Ujire, during his degree studies.

Preetham is survived by his mother and brother.
