Kasargod: Bus-Bike Collision, Rider Killed

Kasargod, Dec 29: Janardhana Acharya (37), son of the late Narayana from Nandanamane in Koodlu Manippady died on Wednesday due to an accident which occurred in the outskirts of the town on the night of Tuesday December 27.

Acharya, who used to stay at his residential quarters in Cherkala, had come to town to buy some things at around 8 pm, and was returning in his motor bike home after shopping, when his vehicle met with an accident.

When the bus hit his motor bike, Acharya was tossed away due to the impact of the accident. Another motor bike moved over his body instantly. Acharya, who was seriously injured in the accident, was taken to a hospital in Chengala and admitted there. However, he did not respond positively to treatments, and breathed his last on Wednesday morning.

The driver and cleaner of the bus made good their escape immediately after the accident. The bus was confiscated by the policemen. A case has been registered.
