Mangaluru: Tempo rickshaw collision claims life of scooter rider in Mulki

Mangaluru, Feb 9: A 42-year-old scooter rider, Mamatha Banger, succumbed to her injuries after being critically injured in a collision with a tempo rickshaw on February 6, near the K S Rao Nagar junction, close to the Kilpadi gram panchayat on the Kinigoli State Highway.

The incident occurred when a tempo rickshaw rammed into the scooter from behind, causing severe injuries to Mamatha. She was rushed to the hospital but tragically passed away during treatment.

Mamatha, who had previously lived in Mumbai, had recently built a new home near Shimantoor and was residing there with her daughter. She was an active member of a women’s self-help group and several social organizations. Her husband runs his own business in Mysuru, and their daughter is a fourth-grade student.

The Mangaluru North police have registered a case and are conducting further investigations into the accident.
