Mangaluru, Feb 9: A 12-wheel lorry transporting soil from Kaikamba to Mangaluru crashed into a bus stop in Gurupura on Friday afternoon, causing significant damage to the structure. The impact damaged the roof of the bus stand, shattered seating arrangements, and reduced nearby stones to rubble.

The incident also caused damage to the roof of the office of the Sri Shanaishchara Pooja Samiti, located adjacent to the rear side of the bus stand. Fortunately, no lives were lost as the bus stand was relatively empty at the time of the accident.

However, two individuals sustained injuries in the incident and were admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru for treatment. The lorry driver attempted to flee the scene without stopping the vehicle but was intercepted and held by local youths.
