Two arrested for attempting wildlife hunting in Karkala

Karkala, Feb 10: Forest officials from Karkala Wildlife Division have arrested two individuals for attempting to hunt wild animals in the Kudremukh wildlife zone near Moorlikarappa in Nooralbetta village.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Prashanth Poojary and Ashok Poojary, both local residents. The authorities have seized a firearm, 21 bullets, a searchlight, two mobile phones, as well as a car and an auto-rickshaw used by the accused.

Following their arrest, the accused have been remanded to judicial custody.

The operation was conducted under the direction of Kudremukh Wildlife Division deputy conservator of forests Shivaramu Babu, with guidance from assistant conservator of forests Satish N. The team was led by Karkala wildlife range forest officer Shashidhar Gowda Patil.

Others involved in the operation included sub-range forest officer Raju L J, officials Abhilash S B, patrolling forest guards Pakirappa and Mallayya, anti-poaching guards Harish M, Nithin and Ajith, along with drivers Damodar and Nithin J Hegde.

    Some people doesnt understand still why one sholdnt hunt a few left animals in forest.And complain later wild animals are coming to human areas.
