Beltangady, Feb 13: Casmir Menezes, former central president of Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh (R), a dedicated social worker, skilled organizer, and retired teacher, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, following a brief illness. He was 79.
Menezes served as the chief warden of Ujire Ratnamanas from 1972 to 2012. He was also a teacher at Ujire Shri Dharmasthala Secondary School and Dharmasthala SDM High School, as well as the director of SDM Residential College. Additionally, he contributed his expertise as an agricultural specialist.

He is survived by his wife, two children, grandchildren, and extended family members.
A devout contributor to the Catholic Sabha Mangalore diocese, Menezes played a significant role in strengthening the organization and fostering its development. Expressing deep condolences over his demise, Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh (R)’s central spiritual director Dr J B Saldanha, central president Alwyn D’Souza Paneer, former president Stany Lobo Bantwal, past presidents L J Fernandes and Gerald D’Costa, along with all former presidents and central executive committee members, have mourned his passing.
