Mangaluru, Feb 18: Karnataka Bank celebrated its 101st Founder’s Day on Tuesday, February 18 at its head office in Pumpwell, Mangaluru. The event commenced with a floral tribute to the bank’s founder directors, followed by a lamp lighting ceremony. The dignitaries present included Karnataka Bank chairman P Pradeep Kumar, managing director and CEO Srikrishnan K, and spiritual leader Sadguru Madhusudan Sai.
In his Founder’s Day lecture, Sadguru Madhusudan Sai emphasised the importance of banks educating the public—especially senior citizens—about banking systems to protect them from cyber frauds. "Elderly individuals are increasingly vulnerable to scams, and banks must take proactive measures to raise awareness," he stated.








He further highlighted the importance of providing excellent customer service, saying that a friendly and approachable attitude helps foster stronger relationships, which are crucial for overall growth.
Karnataka Bank chairman P Pradeep Kumar spoke about the bank’s achievements, noting, "This 101st Founder’s Day celebrates our commitment to excellence and marks the beginning of a new era. We are excited and ready to embrace the evolving demands of modern banking."
Managing director and CEO Srikrishnan K provided an overview of the bank’s growth, revealing that Karnataka Bank has a business of Rs 1.77 lakh crore and serves over 1.3 crore customers. "We remain committed to the legacy of our founders and continue to work with the theme ‘Bharath ka Karnataka Bank’ this year," he added.
During the event, the dignitaries released 101 symbol lapel pins, launched new products, and handed over CSR commitment letters to three beneficiaries.
The formal ceremony was followed by a Carnatic music concert featuring Vidwan Shashank Subramanyam (flute) and Vidwan P. Unnikrishnan (vocal), accompanied by Anubrata Chatterjee (tabla), Sayee Rakshith (violin), Sumesh Narayan (multi-percussion), Ravi G (keyboard), and Laxman (guitar).
Managing director and CEO Srikrishnan welcomed the gathering, Executive director Shekar Rao offered greetings, and Jenifer M B Moras compered the event.
