Bengaluru, Feb 21: The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has issued a directive to its staff to ensure that only men occupy seats reserved for male passengers.
Following the implementation of the Shakti scheme, the number of women passengers on government buses has increased, leading to complaints that male passengers are unable to find seats.

In response, the KSRTC Mysuru divisional controller recently issued an order instructing drivers and conductors to ensure that seats reserved for men are not occupied by women. The directive has now come to light.
The order was issued after a complaint by a passenger named Vishnuvardhan S, who stated that women were occupying seats reserved for men on Mysuru city transport buses, leaving male passengers without seating.
As per the directive, all operational units have been instructed to ensure that male passengers are allotted seats reserved for them. Additionally, all driving staff have been asked to follow this guideline and submit a compliance report.
