Kaup, Feb 22: A case has been registered at Shirva police station regarding the vandalism of a cross at Kuduremala in Kattigeri village, Kaup taluk. According to reports, unknown miscreants desecrated and destroyed the sacred cross on private land on February 19.
The cross held significant religious importance for the Christian community and was considered a sacred place of worship for a local family. Its destruction has deeply hurt the religious sentiments of the community, causing distress and outrage.

Plalivan, a resident of Kattigeri, has lodged a formal complaint at Shirva police station, stating that the act not only disrespects the Christian faith but also violates the sanctity of their place of worship. The complainant has urged authorities to take the matter seriously and conduct a thorough investigation to bring the culprits to justice.
Following the complaint, Shirva police visited the site and initiated an investigation into the incident.
