Gang rape on Bengaluru hotel terrace: Accused men brutally assaulted mother of four

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Feb 23: Days after the shocking gang rape of a mother of four at a private hotel in Bengaluru, police have confirmed that the victim is recovering while the four accused remain in custody. Meanwhile the four accused, identified as Ajit, Vishwa, Shibul, and Shoban, have been arrested and are being interrogated as part of the ongoing investigation.

The incident, which took place on February 22 in the Koramangala police station limits, came to light after the survivor approached the police early the next morning. She had been invited to dinner by one of the accused, who was known to her. After the meal, she was taken to the terrace of the hotel, where she was subjected to a prolonged assault despite her desperate pleas for mercy.

Following her complaint, police launched a swift operation and arrested the accused, who hail from West Bengal and Uttarakhand.

Investigation and legal proceedings

According to sources, forensic reports and medical examinations have corroborated the survivor’s statement. Investigators are also analyzing CCTV footage from the hotel and nearby areas to establish the sequence of events leading up to the crime.

The accused have been booked under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including charges related to rape, wrongful confinement, and criminal intimidation. Police are also probing whether the accused had any prior criminal records.

Victim’s condition and support

The survivor, who runs a catering business in Bengaluru, is currently under medical care. While her physical condition is stable, authorities are ensuring psychological support through counseling services.

Growing concerns over women’s safety

The case has reignited concerns over women’s safety in Bengaluru, especially in light of recent similar incidents. Just last month, a woman waiting for a bus in K R Market was gang-raped and robbed, while another case of a 23-year-old woman’s abduction and assault was reported in April last year.

With public outrage growing, activists and citizens are demanding stronger security measures and stricter enforcement of laws to prevent such crimes.
