Kuwait, Jan 16: KKK (KUWAIT KANNADA KOOTA) held its annual general body meeting at Carmel School, Kheitan on Friday, 6th January 2012. New office bearers were elected to run the activities of the Koota for the year 2012.
KKK, founded in 1984 is one of the pioneer Kannada associations in Kuwait. KKK over the years has been churning out quality cultural programs and has been a very popular Kannada association among the Kannada speaking families in Kuwait.
Before the elections, the outgoing Executive committee organized a variety light cultural programs including the Christmas celebrations. Children danced to the tunes of Christmas carols and received surprise gifts from Santa Claus.
Various sub committees and the program directors who had worked hard and given their valuable time to run the activities of the Koota were honored with a memento by the outgoing Executive committee.
Outgoing President Nagaraj Subba Rao, Vice president Nagaraj Shanbagh, and General Secretary Rajiv Kulkarni shared their pleasant memories and experience while discharging their duties as office bearers for the year 2011. Pravin, the treasurer of the Koota presented his report on Income and expenses of KKK for the year 2011, which was accepted & passed by the members of the Koota. All of them thanked all the members of the Koota for their valuable support.
Then, it was time to elect the office bearers for the year 2012. Harsha Rao, ex president of the Koota conducted elections in his own inimitable style. The new office bearers for the year 2012 are Dr.Surendra Nayak as the President, Pushkala Ganeshan as the Vice President, Ram Kumar as the general Secretary and Ramachandra Bhat as the treasurer of the Koota were elected.
Dr.Surendra Nayak in his maiden speech as the president of the Koota promised members that he will work hard with his team to give out good cultural programs for the year 2012 and requested all the members to render support to the Koota which is in its 29th year of existence.
He introduced his team to all the members and said that Koota is in its peak youth and standing strong due to excellent work put in by all previous presidents and members as well.
The program concluded with a sumptuous dinner enjoyed by all the members.
